Five Inputs are attenuated and sent to five Outputs, which are summed and sent to the Mix Out. This is a normalled connection which will break when a cable is inserted into an Output jack, with the exception of the Thumb Out, which is always sent to Mix Out. This prevents the Mix Out from being useless when all outputs are patched, and is useful for the function of the Comparator outputs.
Mix Out has a toggle switch for gain, allowing you to select between full gain(/1), 50% gain(/2), and 20% gain(/5).
The four finger Inputs are also normalled via the Input Norm. Source toggle switch. You may select if the normalization is to +5V, or the Thumb Output. Selecting Thumb Output allows hand. to function as a multiple in addition to its other functions. The Thumb Input is always normalled to +5V when the jack is unconnected.
hand. also features five Comparator outputs. Each compares the Output of that channel to the Mix Out, and turns on an 8V gate if the channel Output voltage is higher. The Comparator outputs are highly interactive with both toggle switches and all five sliders, as changes to both inputs of the comparator circuit occur.
